Idk, given that the It was once my life will always be proud of it strategic air command usa flag shirt besides I will buy this person responsible turned out to be an in-law and there is obviously some sort of major drama with OP’s family, in a highly conservative state, possibly with a (misguided) homophobic/transphobic lens, it feels pretty malicious to me. It seems like there’s probably a lot more to the story than was appropriate for a legal advice sub. It’s wild the lengths some people will go to when they think they’re “helping” a situation where a family member has cut off contact. They ain’t called flying monkeys for nothing… It’s wild the lengths some people will go to when they think they’re “helping” a situation where a family member has cut off contact. I’ll skip details to respect their privacy, but have been accused of being a terrible parent from people on both sides who are either convinced one of my kids IS something they aren’t (and I’m being abusive by forcing them to hide it) or convinced my kid ISN’T something they are (and I’m being abusive by supporting my child).

The amount of people deciding they know best when it comes to someone else’s gender/orientation/ethnicity is astounding – and their rudeness/arrogence about it has no bounds. It could be the It was once my life will always be proud of it strategic air command usa flag shirt besides I will buy this person had good intentions, maybe the school wanted to highlight trans alumni and LAOP’s in-law thought “Hey I vaguely know of a trans person, we’ll use their photo”. Not getting permission from LAOP or even verifying that they are actually trans and then using copyrighted content means that this incredibly generous interpretation still makes the in-law an idiot at best. I generally assume ineptitude, but here I’m 110% sure it’s malicious. This IT person is being egged on by their new family (OP’s family) to “embarrass” OP publicly by saying they’re transgender. God knows what story they’re being fed, about evil OP abandoning their family. I’m getting strong “small village mentality” vibes. i just wonder what the hell the plan was in this situation, bc i totally agree. op specifically changed their name to get away from their family and actively ignores everyone from their hometown. in what world would that lead to any sort of effective societal pressure/embarrassment????
