I believed it for a while, then I turned 18, got a job, bought my own phone and created my own instagram and YouTube accounts (I wasn’t allowed to have an advanced phone in HS I had a flip phone) and this was in fact in summer 2016, so just before elections so I was like “oh cool, go Trump!” Everywhere on instagram said otherwise. And then there were the protests on TV. I was extremely confused. But Trump won anyways, I didn’t think too much of it in 2017 (I honestly don’t remember a lot of 2017 because I was 19 and liked partying and experimented with alcohol, drugs and dudes) until 2018 when Stormy Daniels entered the chat. I think that’s when I really started to see it. And it just got worse and worse and his true colors started to hit me. A lot of you could say “well he always showed it!” but it’s different for an indoctrinated mind. You don’t want to believe the guy your parents rooted for is a bad person. But when you become an adult with your own mindset and beliefs and you finally start noticing things aren’t right, it’s a whole process to deconstruct.
