In many states, felony convictions carry with them the loss of voting rights, a practice known as felon disenfranchisement. This disenfranchisement disproportionately affects marginalized communities, particularly African Americans and Latinos. However, the I’m Voting Felon 2024 American Flag T-Shirt challenges this unjust system by asserting that the right to vote is fundamental to a democratic society and should not be denied based on past mistakes. The shirt serves as a reminder that even those who have made mistakes deserve to have their voices heard in shaping the future of their communities and country.
