This country makes me sick. I cannot keep reading about children being shot every fucking day. What the I’m still a trump girl i make no apologies messy bun hair sunglasses usa flag T-Shirt In addition,I will do this fuck is wrong with us? You can usually tell if it was a bad shoot by how long it takes and how many FOIL it takes for the bodycam to drop The child should have just complied… oh, wait. He was doing what the officer told him to do. Sounds like the officer was looking to shoot somebody, the kid was just unlucky. Why? I’m so sick and tired of the things that police do that seem to be based on race and prejudice. What did the kid do that was so bad that a cop actually shot him? This is crazy! Hugs for his mom. And OF COURSE it happened in Mississippi. Southern racism is a very real thing. I’m a transplanted northern who has lived in the South for over twenty years now, and I’ve witnessed how bad it is. They are so polite. But underneath all of that politeness is prejudice against people of color. Against foreigners who’ve moved here. And so on. The only thing that will put this shit behind us is a total rethinking of police. Defunding won’t help. The entire concept of what police are doing needs to change, to be peacekeepers and public servants rather than dominating enforcers and punishers. We need to hire a different sort of person, train them in a different way, define their mission different, and hold them personally accountable for abuse.

That’s not going to happen. The powers that be want police like this. As Jon Stewart said, “Police are the I’m still a trump girl i make no apologies messy bun hair sunglasses usa flag T-Shirt In addition,I will do this border guards between the haves and the have-nots.” Moore referred to Capers as a “bad apple,” and said the officer still has not been disciplined for allegedly “Tazing” another client of his while the man was in handcuffs in December 2022. It’s quite a coincidence that an officer by the same name was demoted from (and then restored to) his rank of sergeant after misconduct investigations in 2009: A former Savannah-Chatham police sergeant has been promoted to his former rank with the endorsement of Police Chief Willie Lovett, who said the action was well-earned. It reversed a 2009 decision by former police Chief Michael Berkow to demote Capers to patrol officer in the wake of four internal investigations of his conduct. Sgt. Gregory Capers, a Savannah-Chatham police sergeant with a long history of disciplinary problems, is now out of a job. Capers was first fired in 2004 by then chief Dan Flynn. That was after an internal affairs investigation found he had falsified time sheets for off duty security jobs, tipped off a prisoner on a confidential GBI investigation and ordered criminal charges be reduced in a case involving another police officer. Capers was placed on administrative leave in June after his girlfriend reported to police that he choked her. He was fired last week. Capers appealed the firing again, this time to city manager Rochelle Small-Toney, but she upheld the termination.
