The museum itself sucked, that’s why it didn’t stay afloat. If it were something more like the I’m old i’m finish and i need glasses beer shirt also I will do this ROM it would’ve stood a chance but there really wasn’t much to it to be honest. Yeah you can drive over the Confederation bridge, but unless you’re already in northeast New Brunswick or a specific part of northern Nova Scotia, it’s a long long drive to PEI. No one outside of those areas is day tripping it by car. Plus there’s only one highway (goes from the bridge to Charlottetown) on the whole island and it’s not even 4 lane a good part of the way and it never turns into a divided road, so car traffic can be an issue. Not as much of an issue as when you’re leaving PEI, because that’s when you have to pay the bridge toll. PEI is beautiful, summer or otherwise, but acting like it’s a quick and easy car trip is disingenuous.

Depends on what time of day, and the I’m old i’m finish and i need glasses beer shirt also I will do this location, some days you’d be out of traffic in 10 minutes and others 30ish, which I know isn’t a lot for people who live in bigger cities but PEI doesn’t have the infrastructure for a ton of traffic. That’s why they’re working on upgrading things. We’ve had a significant jump in population during/since covid I’ve been to Charlottetown maybe 5-6 times. I was living north of Halifax in NS, and my work took me PEI on an irregular basis. I’m not a fan of Anne of Green Gables, but I really liked that annual burger contest thing that the restaurants in Charlottetown did. When I was a kid, I went every couple of years. The island was a second home. I went most recently in 2019, and wondered what that building was. The statue of McDonald on the bench was moved up Queen Street a bit, just south of the Confederation Centre (Richmond Street?) But I wonder whether Sir John’s cancellation has led to the statue being removed completely. But now that I live in Toronto it’s a pain to get there. When I lived in Alberta I never went – too far and too expensive. The reality is that outside of the Maritimes a lot of people don’t even think of it as a destination – you can go somewhere more exciting for cheaper.
