I’ve seen some be pushy and abusive enough that some people would just pay them to avoid the hassle. (Yup. Lived in a dorm.) Wish I worked at a place like that. Doesn’t matter who ordered what. No money it would come out of my paycheck so I damn well had better make the customer cough it up Oh and did the customer call the police? Wonderful! Why? It’s back up for what is owed to me. I have a reciept that says cash on delivery and no money from the customer and everythings in writing that they owe me so the police can help keep theft down.

Never! /s)) I seem to vaguely remember some people thinking it was cool to order 100 pizzas and have them delivered to unsuspecting businesses and people. Caused lots of drama. Yeah because this is a waste of time for those making and delivering the food, and places an unwanted financial burden on the person getting the delivery. Imagine you jokingly place an order for 15 large pizzas to be delivered to someone, that’s like 2-300 dollars they could be on the hook for. That seems like a reasonable law. It screws a business out of money and harasses the unwitting recipient. Unless the pizza is prepaid and the recipient is your friend, I suppose, but I’m guessing that scenario isn’t what led to this law being created. According to the link you posted, it’s fine to send people a surprise pizza as long as you pay for it. The law prevents you from telling the pizza place the person receiving it will pay for it. This is misleading. However, This law is exclusive to Louisiana and it was enacted to prevent people from harassing others with unwanted orders of goods or services. Other states may have similar laws that prohibit prank calls or false orders, but Louisiana is the only state that specifically mentions pizza delivery as an example of such behavior
