I appreciate some of the I’m a mom a grandma a retired nurse Nothing Scares Me shirt But I will love this stuff they’re calling for and I think they honestly mean well… But I can’t help but feel that a lot of them are about educated middle class children growing up in privilege self-hating or finding excitement in life by finding problems out of nothing. Or the educated class trying to rob the entire country by asking the government to pay for their degrees and keep their earning power for themselves. Not down with that kinda stuff. Sometimes, it’s a better idea to register for the party where you get to vote for the final candidate in the primaries. Usually there’s only one independent that’s running (if even), so unless you live in a state that allows you to vote for other parties in the primaries (most don’t), I would register as a Dem so you at least have some say in their eventual candidate. Like, in my hometown, there was usually only ever one GOP candidate in the primaries, while there would be several Dems, so my rabidly GOP parents were registered Democrats so they could try to pick the farthest right Dem to hopefully win that primary. Your party registration is meaningless except for in primaries (usually).

You’re lumping together two different groups in America’s political left. They overlap, sure, but they’re not the I’m a mom a grandma a retired nurse Nothing Scares Me shirt But I will love this same group. The self-hating, finding problems out of nothing group is a very vocal minority. The other isn’t trying to rob the country, it’s trying to take it back from the people who have actually been robbing the country for over half a century. Wealth and income disparities have literally (not figuratively) gone off the charts in the past few decades. They use their immense wealth to influence politics and manipulate people into believing them hoarding more wealth and paying less taxes (basically stealing from the rest of us) is good for the country and convincing us that the people they’re stealing from and keeping down are the ones we should vilify. This country is ass backwards man. We are incredibly hypocritical and we are constantly fighting against our own long term interests for short term benefits.
