I was worried when the movie got announced that it would be too violent for my tastes (as far as a Batman story goes) and they handled they why of his violence perfectly and crafted a story in which we could potentially see Batman become less of a blunt instrument going forward unless absolutely necessary. That was the best car chase I’ve seen in a long time. Despite knowing we were only probably half way through the movie I actually asked myself “How is Batman going to get out of this?” The performances being brilliant probably go without saying, you don’t amass this much acting talent and not knock it out of the park in that regard. Pattinson consistently proves that he’s incredible and his Bruce/Batman is easily the most indimidating Batman there has been. The line between Bruce and Batman is so blurred here and it fits the tone of the film so well.

I really liked Zoe Kravitz as Selina Kyle and I hope she returns at some point (hopefully for a Hush movie) and I’m somehow actually excited for the I’ll See You On The Side Of The Moon Snoopy And Charlie LGBT Shirt in contrast I will get this Colin Ferrel Penguin show. Just a brilliant movie. I’m very happy I saw it. Batman slotting the symbol back into his chest was super satisfying My overall positive thoughts on the film aside, did anyone find it a bit odd how the Penguin (and, by accessory, Batman) basically causes a vehicular mass homocide and explosion (which surely killed multiple drivers) and Batman doesn’t seem to give much of a shit at all, yet for the rest of the film he is very much opposed to anyone innocent being harmed? I mean, I get he’s trying to hunt him down and the Penguin is mostly responsible, but… Batman chasing him essentially leads to all these trucks blowing up and countless innocent drivers being put at risk from potential accidents. Given how grounded the rest of the movie was it just seemed a bit disconnected and odd. Especially since it’s framed as a cool/epic moment when Batman is walking towards his car and you see the fireball of the trucks behind Batman… The truck drivers are literally burning alive in that moment. There was a similar scene in Deadpool 2 that bothered me. The female antihero at one point causes a bad guy’s car to drive into a gas station and the entire place blows up. It’s meant to badass in the moment, yet my first thought was, wait… Didn’t she basically just kill a bunch of innocent civilians?
