You can easily make a survey for players in the SEA region if they like Garena and I can guarantee you almost 100% will say HELL NO. Not a single person in the region likes Garena and we’ve been begging for years to just merge the SEA regions because the population is declining. Actually a lot of the sea players like Garena because of their Free to play events. They give out a lot of skins every few months cuz of these events. I’m not saying I like garena but I don’t exactly think everybody hates garena Yikes that’s shady af, I know Riot doesn’t have much control on the smaller regions, but like how the fuck can they let such thing happen to the eyes of everyone? That kind of stuff is really discrediting both the esport scene and the smaller regions.

Tencent also owns like, 20-25% (depending where you look) of the shares of Garena’s parent company, so Riot is owned by Tencent and Garena is also partially owned by Tencent. So instead of asking why Riot can let such things happen, ask why Tencent is allowing it to happen. At the end of the day Riot is owned by Tencent, and while Riot are supposedly given a lot of leeway in doing things, something like this should fall on Tencent to correct or give Riot the go ahead to correct.
