Plastic and Sun don’t mix… how the If We Were A Team And Love Was A Game We’d Have Been The Atlanta Braves ’98 Shirt But I will love this hell this is a thing is beyond me. On the other hand, I always chuckle when seeing my neighbour vacuuming the garden. It has its place, not in all gardens, but some. Our house is built in heavily contaminated ground (decades of industry that’s now long gone) and as part of the planning application the previous owner was not allowed to plant anything in the ground for any reason. Even grass, hedges, etc, etc. So, the options were paving / gravel or fake grass. All houses built in this road have the same stipulation attached to the planning application. So, it serves a purpose in that it provides some Greenery and allows water to drain through, along with the gravel borders. But agree, in general it wouldn’t be my preferred option, but it does have its place.

My Mum has some in her garden. It was fully flagged when she moved in so she added lots of flower beds, climbing plants up all the If We Were A Team And Love Was A Game We’d Have Been The Atlanta Braves ’98 Shirt But I will love this fences, and loads of flowers in loads of pots. She’s elderly though and on a tight pension so wouldn’t have wanted to go through big works to get the flags removed and a lawn put in but after about 15 years of being there she was sick of the sight of the flags so wanted a bit of greenery and went for some fake grass. It looks ok but I don’t really begrudge people who have already flag stoned or concreted gardens from getting it. I saw a video on facebook that pissed me off earlier though. Young couple, new build house. They dug up the entire lawn, paved over half of it and put fake grass on the rest. It just makes me sad for the loss of habitat for wildlife and just makes me a bit sad really. We plants loads of plants in our gardens to encourage bees, butterflies and moths. We want the planet to survive and each time we sanitise a bit of nature it makes me feel sad.
