You get used to her taking her bad day out on you. That’s who you are. The rock that holds things together. You are strong. You will make it work. If it wasn’t hard it wouldn’t be worth doing. You get stuck in this loop, where you don’t understand why anymore. You fall back on these principles because it’s the only thing keeping you sane. But what can you do, how could you possibly understand when you are just “stupid”. You are a stupid man who will never understand. By now you know your role in all this. You can’t leave. That would make you a quitter. That would make you weak. Your mistakes are the focal point of every conversation. Even if you haven’t made any recently the ones from the past will be dragged back into it. You can’t use logic to explain yourself. If you have a point, if you are in the right then you are made out to be some kind of villain. And even then, that’s better than being in the wrong. If you are in the wrong then she has every right to berate you and make you feel like your entire existence is worthless.

Eventually, you are just a shell of your former self. Whatever that was.
