If you do this in Europe you have problem. First with all of the I Teach The Cutest Little Turkeys In 1st Grade Thanksgiving T-Shirt But I will love this other people on the road, after that the cops. One hell of an expensive ticket. Rule over here is: Drive on the right lane at all times. Only go 1 lane to the left when you want to pass. After that, right again. I think I remember someone saying that it would give them more time to react if a moose came onto the road in front of them. I can clearly recall an incident when I was in the left lane doing the speed limit(ish) because I had an exit in the next mile or two coming up. I was being aggressively tailgated the entire time by a driver who then gestured at me furiously after passing me on the right. I am 100% agreeing with this, but on the flip side… why do people RIDE YOUR ASS if you don’t pass in .3 seconds? Bro, at least give me a chance to speed up and get around the guy before you climb up my rectum. It’s not how we do it in Atlanta so fuck everyone else I guess. I do it when I’m going long distance and get over when people get annoyed Hate to say it but until I was about 20 I thought it was called the fast lane. Why? Because my dad always drove in it exclusively and called it that, so guess what I did when I started driving? Drove fast in the fast lane. I was always confused as to why people kept getting over and back again. I’d be in my car mumbling “pick a lane buddy. You getting off on this exit or no?” One day I had someone in the car with me and voiced that and he was like what are you going on about? That being said, one time I borrowed my mom’s Highlander for a long drive. The adaptive cruise control kept sensing slow traffic ahead in the right lane and slowing me down to their speed. I turned the range down to the minimum but it would still slow me down when it saw a truck 500 yards in front of me. Before I knew it I was hanging out in the left lane to avoid getting slowed down by the cruise control. And then it hit me…maybe this is why all these motherfuckers hang out over here.

You can’t tell me that these people just don’t notice other drivers needing to constantly pass them on the I Teach The Cutest Little Turkeys In 1st Grade Thanksgiving T-Shirt But I will love this right. Are they also oblivious when they create those rolling roadblocks with someone going the same speed in the next lane? Nah, those people are just assholes. That’s why they do it. And yes, you reader who does this with whatever excuse you have (unless your exit is on the left and coming up in a mile or 2) you’re also an asshole. Pass and move back to the right. I’ll ride in the left at 5 over the speed limit if it is safer due to potholes, snowdrifts, debris, salt trucks, busted up concrete, or super slow right lane drivers. If people followed this format, there would be much less general congestion, but people don’t realize that. The typical driver only acknowledges “LEFT = FAST AND FAST MEANS IMPORTANT AND I AM IMPORTANT”
