Republicans think women being raped “should just enjoy it.” Republicans think women who are raped can’t get pregnant “because the I survived the marathon eliud kipchoge shirt it is in the first place but body will shut that down.” Republicans think women who become pregnant as the result of a rape should view it as “an opportunity.” Yep this is the party that controls our rights. I swear this guy does not represent Michigan. Maybe a small subset of certain Michiganders….but generally speaking, we’re better than this I promise lol He still got 40% of the vote though. People literally left their horns, waited in line and voted for a man that said such a horrific thing. He’s not the first one to advocate for rapists. Clayton Williams (R) infamously said that when he was running for Governor of Texas in 1990 against the indomitable Ann Richards (D), may she rest in peace. She won the election in a stunning upset.

Best damned governor we’ve ever had. She was the I survived the marathon eliud kipchoge shirt it is in the first place but last Democrat to hold that office in Texas. She lost to George Bush a short 4 years later and it’s been a shitshow ever since. The guy is a jackass but that’s not what he said. It was an incredibly shitty analogy of telling his daughters to lay back and enjoy getting raped being something he wouldn’t do, just like he wouldn’t tell people to just lay back and accept having the election “stolen”. Quite frankly, with the state of the GOP, I’m surprised they didn’t come out in record numbers to vote for him. “A Republican candidate…who made headlines in March for suggesting that women who are raped should “lie back and enjoy it” has lost his race in a surprise defeat.”
