Uhm the I Survived Hurricane Hilary I August 2023 Shirt moreover I will buy this issue is you staying in one place for 8 years. At that point you should’ve atleast changed jobs twice and make double what you are currently making. It’s hard news, but the damage has already occurred gradually over the last 11 years when you allowed your pay to stagnate for such a long time. $10 to $18 in 11 years is barely keeping with inflation so the fact that a new hire in that same position is making that much makes sense. What you’re not being compensated for is all the promotions. You should really be making closer to $35 on the very low end, $60 on the higher end with those titles and experiences. Unfortunately, corporate trends over the last 40 years have shifted to forcing employees to use alternative offers to compel proper raises (vs internal negotiations). These are big words to say you just need to find another place that appropriately pays, secure the offer, then use that offer to negotiate if you still want to stay at that point (or overemploy if that’s your flavor).

You are woefully, woefully underpaid. You will be shocked if you update your resume and land some interviews using your experience. Unless you are moving up and receiving a 5-10% raise every year you are costing yourself money and after 8 years it’s now time to look for a new job. I was a brand new manager with an employee in this situation. He asked to be moved to the I Survived Hurricane Hilary I August 2023 Shirt moreover I will buy this advertised rate. My boss didn’t have an immediate answer so he said, “well, what if I quit this job and apply for the other position you’re offering?” He got a raise the next day and they are now more conscientious about avoiding these scenarios. 74 more repliesUnfortunately the best way is to find a new job, then hope your company matches to keep you or you try to come back in a couple of years.
