Now, the I Support American Oil from American Soil Flag T-Shirt Apart from…,I will love this good news is that the mere appearance of these unpleasant thoughts and emotions is inherently meaningless. By that, I mean, that when those feelings arise, they arise contiguous with the rest of conscious experience. What is the meaning of a bird in flight? The feeling of having a hand? The smell of fresh flowers? See what I mean? It’s in investing “ourselves” in these feelings that they become meaningful–we have, quite literally, identified with them and given them power. On their own, they are the mere ephemera of experience, no different than a trillion other stimmuli we encounter in our lives. You’ve already taken that difficult and necessary step of being mindful that there’s something to notice here–great job on that, btw, OP!–that’s always the opening gambit.

With that done, my recommendation is to stay the I Support American Oil from American Soil Flag T-Shirt Apart from…,I will love this (mindfulness) course but to add something like a mantra to your practice. Whether you use a literal mantra or not is up to you, whatever you find works best for you will work and that’s what’s most important, but you need something to remind yourself that you are not your thoughts and feelings (which, again, is hopefully something you’ve already recognized in meditation). You need to remind yourself that you can’t go any faster than you can go. I know it sounds obvious but some part of you has some anxiety about that; maybe feelings of self-doubt or inadequacy or fear of judgement or what-have-you. Again, there really is no “fast enough” or “good enough”–force yourself to confront that directly, again and again.
