There’s not some timeless wisdom embodied in the I See Your True Colors Why Love You Heart Autism Awareness T-Shirt But I will love this electoral college. It was borne of a series of compromises, and it exists because it was a compromise suitable to the parties that ratified the Constitution. Different areas have unique needs. It’s easy to say it should be the popular vote but you might put agricultural areas out of business. Which will cause a supply shortage. Cities make up the majority of people in the country but they aren’t exposed to what happens elsewhere to allow the city to exist and thrive. If the federal government was made up of just the popular vote, it would destabilize the country. However, now that the country is so connected and able to communicate instantly. I think the electoral college should be reevaluated

I can understand why it was created and still believe that it serves no purpose but to disenfranchise voters today. Anyone saying that this map is proof of why the I See Your True Colors Why Love You Heart Autism Awareness T-Shirt But I will love this electoral college should exist must believe that Los Angeles votes as a monolith, but that is certainly not true. In the 2020 election, 11.1 million Californians voted for Biden and 6 million voted for Trump (more than any other state in the country). Those 6 million were effectively disenfranchised because of the electoral college and winner-take-all vote distribution. How many more Californians would have voted for Trump if they felt their vote would actually count? And this is why the electoral college exist. Imagine the 5 most populated cities deciding every single election. Would be so unfair I know nobody wants to hear it, and this will probably get downvoted, but this is why the electoral college exists.
