Similarly, after 5 years with a global company and nearly 10 years of experience in the I May Live In Utah But On Game Day My Heart & Soul Belong To Arizona Wildcats Shirt besides I will buy this field, I was making $21.50 an hour, and had an extremely different workload than any of my peers (headquarters had 4 people doing my job for 2 sites – I took care of 6 sites myself, with very similar headcounts). 2 bosses and 3 years of promises of a 5 figure raise and promotion, I learned that summer interns were being hired at $30 an hour. I was sending out my resume within 2 weeks. At a certain point, it just becomes painfully obvious that the company doesn’t give a shit about you. You are a cog in the wheel, and the only choice you have is to go find someplace else. If the new hire people are smart and for example have a PhD or have more experience, they can worth more. The way to keep on pace is learn more new skills and get a new job. You have been there 8 years. That should mean something to your boss. I would just be up front with him that your salary needs to be in line with that of the new hires. If you have more responsibility or are to train them, you should receive a little more compensation. It’s not an unreasonable ask.

You gotta leave to get hired at the I May Live In Utah But On Game Day My Heart & Soul Belong To Arizona Wildcats Shirt besides I will buy this new higher rate. Nobody is going to give you a huge raise like that unless they are really in a bind. I was a tech at a car dealership back in 1999. I quit to try something else and while I was gone, the dealership business really, really picked up. My old boss literally begged me to come back. I eventually did with a $5/hr raise, 3 weeks vacation and custom tailored uniform shirts. (My arms are extra long and no uniform shirts fit me). Going into the office, groveling over a pay raise is rough and not going to win them over. They won’t respect you. If they really miss you when you’re gone, make them grovel for you. 2012 is a LONG time ago and wages have risen A LOT since then. Rarely is someone at a company for that long paid what they should be.
