Nothing is free. It is not fear; it’s corruption. Politicians are paid off by the Pharma Industry, the Rifle Association, the Oil Companies, etc. to resist change. They accomplish this by fear-mongering and radicalism. It’s stupid and needs to end. We did this thing called the red scare where people killed people who were left wing and insisted socialism is when “government does a thing”. You do not need to be a right-wing kook to worry that this would decrease the quality and availability of health care for some people. A lot of the right wingers I know fear it because they don’t think the government will do a good job with it (or anything else for that matter). They (right or wrong) point to countries like Canada and Great Britain where you have long wait times or other supposed problems and they will find people from those countries who corroborate those stories. Edit: Also, the right wingers I know are upper middle class and don’t have any major problems with their current Healthcare setup so they assume it could only get worse. For a lot of people, they would rather hurt themselves than to do something that could help not only them but the “others” they’ve been taught are “less than” (i.e. minorties, immigrants, etc) I think it’s easy to imagine how nice free healthcare would be in the US, but I think if you look really closely at how many people we’d be providing for and consider just how much tax dodging is going on out there, you’d find that the system would go bankrupt pretty quickly. You’d have to not only raise taxes to afford it, you’d have to start getting very tough on tax collection. Pause and think about the people you’re expecting to accept that. Have you seen the kinds of people that go to Trump rallies?

Healthcare paid by taxes is not free. There are more people on American health plans than there are people that live in Canada or most of the countries that purport to have “free” healthcare. Taxes or insurance premiums. What is the difference? Also, why should one person offset the healthcare of another when everyone that lives has healthcare expenses during their lifetime? Socialism fatal flaw is that it is a belief that government can make better decisions for people than people can make for themselves. That is the problem with socialist healthcare. It is wrong. Also, why is it that the leftest mentality that if you oppose something it is because you fear it? Where does that come from? There is no fear to it. Just an adamant disagreement with leftest socialist diatribe.
