Lots of people seem to try to distract themselves as a means of this. The problem is that just like we feel physical pain that causes us to not do something again as we grow, emotional pain and mental issues are a way that the mind is saying something is wrong, it needs addressed, and there’s something to learn. If you put your hand on a hot stove, you wouldnt continue to hold it there. If your mind is in chaos or hurting, you don’t want to “hold it there” Thich Nhat Hanh teaches that we should sort of see these negative feelings and emotions as baby’s that our mindfulness can nurture and “calm” like a mother. Instead of trying to distract and ignore, we approach it as allowing our mindfulness and welcome it and calm it. Even if you have to use your breathing to anchor yourself, and say a mantra, like if feeling angry say “I am angry, I breath out and calm the anger.” Sounds silly… but strangely enough it works. This approach has helped me a ton. Instead of trying to ignore the negative, I let myself meditate and focus on my breath for a secondt, and then create an inner monologue or mantra where I kind of… speak to it. Again, I know it sounds strange.

Same I’m doing the same trying to get away from the fact I’m sexualy frustrated and I’m hiding the fact that I’m not really into what I’m doing is an escape from the things that I have no control as for the past 6 yrs haven’t gone to plan but deep down there is a reason I’m scared to be me because people are afraid of something they can’t understand why me it’s not my fault I’m who I am what ever that I don’t know yet but they know and should be happy as we did this for them and they say I can do that but the fact is they is why I did so they need to get over them self’s and so do I as I shouldn’t even acknowledge there fault s as we are all hear and should work together That can be a sign of depression. Maybe talk to a doctor.It feels like the only reason it doesnt simply lose total legitimacy and collapse is that the very people that complain about it the most: journalists, pundits, media outlets, and millennial liberals, are the ones that refuse to leave the platform or stop linking to it constantly…..including this sub lol
