I agree with you completely. You would have another child to look after for all your days together. Your children would grow up (which he never did, obviously) and become independent and have lives of their own. He would continue to need . . . everything. I have a question: Do you know how he was raised? I thank my MIL often because she raised her son to vacuum, do laundry, cook, mop, keep a tidy place. Please do not second guess your decision. I say this as a married man who works at least 80 hours a week and cools and cleans everyday for my wife and kids: you made the right call.

You already have your own kids you don’t need another one. Like many other people stated this is more than just him being unable to cook. Cooking is not hard, like every skill it takes practice and failures but following directions and using common sense is 90% of cooking. But it seems like he doesn’t make an effort and relies on you to without improving himself, it’s honestly pathetic. I was fortunate and was taught to cook and clean to young, but even if he wasn’t that fortunate that doesn’t prevent him from learning. You weren’t wrong at all. He wants to be TOLD what he has to do around the house?! Sounds like a child to me. If he didn’t have someone there to take care of him, where would he be? Back with his mom? I’m glad you kicked him to the curb. Sorry he didn’t try hard enough for you, but maybe he will do better for the next one.
