As far as I know only Republican politicians openly say it should be (much) more difficult to vote and that there should be way more restrictions on voting. It’s an absolutely wild thing to say in a supposed democracy IMO. I don’t understand how someone standing in line and that wasn’t given their rightful chance to vote doesnt sue. There has to be plenty of voting advocacy lawyers out there that would take the I Have P.M.A Positive Mental Attitude I’m Positive I’m Mental Turtle shirt Furthermore, I will do this case. It frankly doesn’t matter why they ‘ran out’, you keep going until everyone that wanted to vote gets that chance. even if the legal representation is free, that person’s time is not. Many people can barely afford to vote (hourly workers) let alone sue over being intentionally disenfranchised. It’s always been part of their strategy post Reconstruction. EVERYONE should know about “Project 2025 – Mandate For Leadership, the I Have P.M.A Positive Mental Attitude I’m Positive I’m Mental Turtle shirt Furthermore, I will do this Conservative Promise,” available at the literal Republican playbook, put together by the Heritage Foundation and 45 other conservative entities like Alliance Defending Freedom, Claremont Institute, and Moms For Liberty. It was first handed to Reagan, who merely enacted the policy within it. Same with Trump – they are two heads of the same snake. Their vision for a Christofascist theocracy and just how they intend to implement it are painstakingly detailed. Their plan is to dismantle the federal government and remove our rights, TO BEGIN WITH. It’s fucking chilling and you should at least read the foreword, a dense 17 pages of GOP philosophy that outlines their mission. Fossil fuels are a big part of it. God and guns and nothing else for everyone. Sealed borders. Everyone will be free to live “as our creator ordained,” in those words. If that doesn’t terrify you idk what will.
