Just the opposite, I want them to be accountable, and work for my vote. Many “Centrists” aren’t even actually centrist. I’m not a Centrist, I am an Independent. I didn’t choose a party, and then choose to believe what the party tells me to believe. If I look at individual issues, I am right on some, left on some, and have a nuanced perspective on others that wouldn’t be centrist, just practical, in my view. I describe myself as an issue-driven Constructive Independent, not a party-driven partisan.
