The most saving before Uni anyone I know did was a couple thousand from working in the I don’t think so tim home improvement shirt it is in the first place but summer before just so they could have a nicer time and not worry about getting a job straight away. Once you finish Uni you don’t have to pay any of the loans back until you’re earning a reasonable amount of money, and then pay such a small amount straight out of your Paycheck so you never see it or even notice it going. Then if you haven’t paid the loans back in 30 years it gets written off anyway and you don’t have to pay anything anymore The truth is capitalism is anti-family so those who have many children are often on a great deal of financial assistance just to get by. People who want large families should be able to have them and reddit’s anti-child bias is showing pretty badly with some of these replies. I think the single person and the large family person all are oppressed in the same way under our form of lowly regulated capitalism. Unless you’re fabulously wealthy you really can’t afford the real costs of 4+ children, but having children is good for society and our well being. The capitalist machine wants you to be a forever single renter working 60+ hours a week and die working at your desk because that’s the most profitable outcome in capitalism short of slavery.

Having children is a wild and brave rebuttal of capitalist culture whether people realize it or not. Saying I’m going to raise these children and pray that public schools stay funded, I can afford daycare, I can take off work when they’re sick without getting fired, I can rely on my tax rebates, I can rely on being able bodied to work and able bodied to take care of children, I can rely on my community of friends and other parents to pitch in, I can show nurturing and affection on a high level every day, etc is an incredible and almost neckless display of love and a slap in the I don’t think so tim home improvement shirt it is in the first place but face of the capitalist system that crushes so many dreams of parenthood, and other fulfilling dreams. Building a society on the idea of “You may only have children in life if you can afford every little thing about them alone” is a psychotic perversion of the most basic instincts of humanity and that should sicken us all. Children should be seen as a collective and community responsibility and those who have them as performing an important sacrifice to keep humanity going. Parents are rebels and hopeless romantics to bring children into this world and we should recognize that and build a society that takes care of our littlest and most vulnerable and value them.
