it pisses me off how restaurants are taking advantage of tipping laws and are so fucking greedy. idk how many other restaurants do this but the I don’t need therapy just need to work at Wendy’s flower shirt and by the same token and restaurant i work at pays cashiers $4 an hour and makes them rely on tips from pick up orders. they also take a percentage of the tips from the servers that were paid with credit card and use that money taken from servers to pay the other employees. In the end this just hurts people in the tip category . Because it puts a bad taste in the peoples mouth about tipping in general. The doors and windows of the room are wide open and nobody is standing in your way. Yes, you can escape it; just don’t tip. Here’s a tip: cook your own food. Healthier, for a third of the cost and you don’t need to support awful tipping culture.

I agree too culture sucks for my line of work I’m considered an “tipped employee” so I don’t make overtime hours even if I spend hours over the I don’t need therapy just need to work at Wendy’s flower shirt and by the same token and 80 hours I’m a delivery driver. I delivery furniture all day set it up, haul away, and appliances we haul away, set up and deliver. We are considered tipped employees and refused overtime, and the majority of the people we deliver to don’t tip I’ve made maybe 5$ in tips in a month and have done at least 60 deliveries. The whole idea of a tip is that it is a choice, an offering. The fact they make and upfront ask for it takes away the thanks part out of it, i dont get it. So if I drive to the restaurant and pick up my order to take home, they expect me to tip? So it’s a 20% upcharge to be handed a bag? Everything seems more expensive because our minimum wage is $NZ 22.70, costs are inclusive no tax or tip to add.
