Ok, firstly, loud and clear….i don’t like South Indians being called Madrasis one bit….its derogatory, insulting and simply not done. For some godforsaken reason, all north indians weren’t referred to as Bambaiyas or Clacuttiyas based on whether they hailed from the west or east of the northern parts of India…. Yeah that that is fine. In my society, I live alone. I recently had to go for surgery and still recovering. No one in my society even came and asked me are you alive or dead. I needed an ambulance service but was unable to get so I requested in my society to help. If anyone can drop me by car the distance was less than 3 kms. But no one even responded…I had to take a rickshaw in that state and unfortunately the rickshaw didn’t accept Paytm, go had to detour to an ATM to withdraw cash. I was not even in a state where I could walk. There was a drain pipe from stomach hanging and I was carrying a blood bag to collect the internal bleeding from my surgery thru the drain pipe. I use to feel hungry at night but they didn’t allow any delivery, instead they changed the time of delivery from 12 midnight to 11pm. In case the delivery gets late even if the person arrives at 11pm they won’t allow him, how is this cruelty fine? And calling someone madrasi is not okay? Just cos one is SC you can treat him in an inhuman manner but calling Madrasi is unacceptable? Bangalore you can do better!

I mean, I know it is offensive but how do you convince the HR that it is derogatory in case the HR is from North India too or even West for that matter… Every one from South and northeast is one and the same of these people and their culture. NE are referred as Chikki which is definitely derogatory as it is referring to their eyes which is facists. Similarly North people are called from cow belt or bhaiya especially if from up/bihar or simply Bihari. Edit: I don’t know why getting downvoted. But for people who don’t know in Mumbai there is a town which is referred as sobo i.e. South Bombay. Everything South of dadar basically. Here people speak launguage called bambaiya which is mix of Hindi, Marathi, Gujarati, Konkani, Parsi and some other dialects. If you tell anyone one from here that calling South Indian people Madrasi is derogatory, he will say ‘dimag satak gaya hai kya? Chavi jaise nakhra mat kar. Alibaug se aaya hai kya?’ Or something like ‘tadi mar ke aaya hai kya?’.
