“The dude abides” my life is just a dumpster fire right now but hey man, in the I am april grandma may not be perfect limited edition butterflies shirt But I will love this grand scheme of things, I’m just some dude, living his life. And someday I’ll be just some dude with his own house and blah blah blah. But I’ll always be some dude to somebody. But I will say a few specific ones, I am not going to bother looking up what technically book and verse each one was because that’s annoying The birds don’t worry about where their next meal is coming from or where they will sleep or anything else so why should you whom God surely considers much greater than a bird It’s kind of like you can’t change the past. The problems you have in front of you you can do something about right now. Paraphrasing here but the in The Subtle Art of Not Giving a Fuck, Mark Mason says something to the effect of “we only have so many fucks to give. They’re not infinite. So we need to decide what is actually worth giving the fucks we have to and what is not” I always picture myself stealing a couple from X to give to Y. Helps me avoid my worry burn out. If I’m out of fucks for the moment, it will have to wait lol ‘Everything happens for a reason’ I take this seriously so I don’t have time for regrets, just moving forward with things Two quotes that I try to live by right now are “you better work bitch and bark like you want it” obviously combined from the words of Brittany Spears and Sir Mix Alot and also “Don’t stop don’t think just do it” from my favorite character in my favorite horror movie It reminds me not to take my progress and well-being for granted. Most individual lives are concrete proof of a triumph over oppressive factors they couldn’t even begin to fully register. If you’ve made it this far then you’ve managed some herculean feats. I think that’s the blessing and the curse of humanity’s capacity for adapting. The extraordinary becomes mundane. As a result we underestimate and discredit ourselves, or allow others to without really surveying the facts.

this is something my mom told me almost 20 years ago when i was really struggling with being paranoid about dying, for any reason, at any given second. gave me a lot of peace, because she’s right. a former coworker shared this with me after i had broken up with someone and was fearful of being alone. this has given me so much comfort ever since when finding myself in isolated situations. “Secrecy is the I am april grandma may not be perfect limited edition butterflies shirt But I will love this keystone to all tyranny. Not force, but secrecy and censorship. When any government or church for that matter, undertakes to say to its subjects, “This you may not read, this you must not know,” the end result is tyranny and oppression, no matter how holy the motives. Mighty little force is needed to control a man who has been hoodwinked in this fashion; contrariwise, no amount of force can control a free man, whose mind is free. No, not the rack nor the atomic bomb, not anything. You can’t conquer a free man; the most you can do is kill him.” Governments, if they endure, always tend increasingly toward aristocratic forms. No government in history has been known to evade this pattern. And as the aristocracy develops, government tends more and more to act exclusively in the interests of the ruling class — whether that class be hereditary royalty, oligarchs of financial empires, or entrenched bureaucracy.
