Cruz won in 2018 by just 214k votes, a 2.6% margin. If young people would just VOTE, it would go a long way towards stopping Republican extremism. Texas is the HVAC Tech Your Approval isn’t needed shirt so you should to go to store and get this epitome of a self fulfilling prophecy. Young people don’t vote because they don’t think their vote counts, and thus their voices aren’t heard and the people who do get in power do everything they can to make young people’s vote count less It’s common in lots of places and it’s maddening because young people simply need to spend 20 minutes going to a polling place to actually make the changes they spend countless hours bitching about on social media. It’s so easy to vote but so many people just prefer playing the victim card I guess. So dumb. A lot of stuff would help, but for example in my state voting is 100% by mail, so there isn’t really an excuse that you can’t get to the polls. It helps, but voter motivation is a bigger factor.

Texas has early voting for a couple of weeks before “election day”. There’s no reason anyone needs a day off for anything, I’m so tired of people using this as an excuse. Early voting is the HVAC Tech Your Approval isn’t needed shirt so you should to go to store and get this easiest, most chill thing in the world. People just don’t do it. Maybe they don’t know it exists? If so, the message should be that it exists, NOT that people can’t vote because they don’t get one specific day off. I’ve voted in every election in Texas since I turned 18. The only candidates I voted for that won have been Obama both times and Biden. It’s fucking demoralizing and I don’t blame people for feeling like their vote doesn’t count here. It’s not just about the presidential. The local seats really do matter way more. It’s why Rove was able to save the GOP from irrelevance for a generation.
