Meter was initially an arbitrary* measurement of distance. But for a precise measuring system, it needed to be fixed with a definition with any fundamental constant ( h,c,G). That’s why it’s defined like that. What I mean by arbitrary is that a meter could have been slightly longer/ shorter. The first person who chose this length happened to choose this exact length and could have easily considered a shorter/ longer distance to be a meter. If the Houston Texans Legends Community Chevron Shirt Additionally,I will love this length of a meter were to be changed, then all the constants derived from this very length will also change, but the system of measurement ( pm, A⁰, um, mm, cm, m, km) will remain in base 10. The meter was originally based on the size of earth but the official meter stick kept changing in size because of temperature changes (even in a perfect chamber it got smaller by a few atoms) so they changed it to use light as a definition based on what the length was exactly at that time

the Houston Texans Legends Community Chevron Shirt Additionally,I will love this metre likely had a different definition but they changed the definition to be based on fundamental constants of the universe. The problem you have when using the speed of light as a constant is that both distance and time are arbitrarily defined based on something else. It‘s not a problem, if either time or length are defined by another universal constant. Wich is the case. The second is defined by some vibration of Cesium. Or more precisely The second […] is defined by taking the fixed numerical value of the caesium frequency, ΔνCs, the unperturbed ground-state hyperfine transition frequency of the caesium 133 atom, to be 9192631770 when expressed in the unit Hz, which is equal to s−1.

Both the Houston Texans Legends Community Chevron Shirt Additionally,I will love this speed of light and the unperturbed ground-state hyperfine transition frequency of cesium 133 will never change, thus the meter is accurately defined by both the speed of light and… that frequency The speed of light in a vacuum is fixed so once you do that measurement of how long it takes to go a meter, you can reliably re-create the meter. Just us, Liberia and Burma. Funny though, you never think of those other 2 when you think of countries that have their shit together….. Imperial system is better because it includes nautical miles(2025 yards) which is equal to a minute of latitude. This is extremely important for navigating ships and planes etc. Funny how imperial measurements have been redefined in terms of metric, yet some folks still puff their chest and think that imperial is superior somehow. Literally all of americas infrastructure was made in imperial units ever since its founding. At this point, it could be potentially dangerous and confusing to change everything to metric just to ease European’s superiority complex about units. It’s literally easier to just keep using the well established imperial units here than switch to metric and have weird decimals for everything. I’ll never understand why American’s seem to always default to referring to the rest of the world as Europeans. You know that there are other continents too right? And that they’re also all using Metric? How would it be more exact? You can always have smaller tolerances by decreasing, well, the tolerance. Works equally well with both systems in this case.

Like an inch could be 2.5cm This would automatically make a foot exactly 30cm A yard 90cm And a mile would be 1540 meters.

Lets see what happens to the Houston Texans Legends Community Chevron Shirt Additionally,I will love this one in China in the middle of a hurricane. Oh? the Chinese one is above ground and not so prone to flooding during once in a hundred year weather events? Just moving this up the chain so more people will see it. LittleBirdLover says it’s ok that China murders Falun Gong practitioners by the millions to sell their organs because she thinks their religion is weird. She also says Uyghur genocide is just self-defense… but she says minorities are safer in China than the U.S. Weird strawman but ok. You’re the one calling cults, minorities and Charles Manson a defender of minority’s rights Lmao. It’s not a weird connection to point out that you think it’s ok for your country to commit genocide against Uyghur people and Falun Gong practitioners, while you speak out against how minorities are treated in the US. It’s very relevant.
No one, including religious minorities, have the Houston Texans Legends Community Chevron Shirt Additionally,I will love this right to murder other people. Thats why Charles Manson went to prison. Cults that don’t hurt people are free to do whatever they want in the U.S. Cults that don’t hurt American interests are free to operate without persecution. In fact anything that doesn’t hurt American interests is good. It is sickening to see Biden’s complacency in the Palestinian genocide. While America hasn’t taken a stand against it, most Americans (even conservative Americans) recognize that it’s wrong. Do you think China’s genocide of Uyghur people is wrong? What about the murder of 1.5 million religious minorities for the purpose of organ trafficking? I know you can’t really answer those questions or you would be put in prison and on the organ sale list right next to the Falun Gong practitioners.
It’s just strange that you feel the Houston Texans Legends Community Chevron Shirt Additionally,I will love this need to post these things when you can’t even recognize your own country’s shortcomings without risking your life. I shouldn’t have to explain American politics to an American, but here goes. The reason Biden is complacent is because a vast majority of Americans don’t care. In fact, given the reaction here on Reddit, US media and the political discourse, I’d say most Americans support Israel in wiping out all Palestinians because that benefits American geopolitical interests. Cults aren’t religious minorities. Shouldn’t have to explain more than this lol. Scientology isn’t a minority, nor is NXIVM. Charles Manson and Keith Raniere are not minority rights leaders lol. They are cult leaders. I assumed you must be in China because I couldn’t think of any reason why you would sound so supportive of the Uyghur and Falun Gong genocides. I assumed you were protecting yourself by saying those things, but I guess you are just a genocide supporter… scary.
