If you want to end protests over the Horse My Body is a temple ancient and crumbling T-shirt but in fact I love this actions of the police, how about dedicating similar resources to the effort of surveilling law enforcement for signs of abuse and corruption. Every thing changed when the Patriot Act was passed. Granted I’m sure the American public were being “tracked” to a certain degree. It was the Patriot Act that really opened the flood gates. I was already pissed about the corruption in my home state, dammit. It put a serious hole in Minnesota’s credibility about racial equality and my trust in the government and law enforcement as well. Does anyone know who the Minnesota Congresspeople are? I’d like to write and see if this can be covered in the next Congressional session.

Horse My Body is a temple ancient and crumbling T-shirt, hoodie, tank top, sweater and long sleeve t-shirt

You live in the Horse My Body is a temple ancient and crumbling T-shirt but in fact I love this third world authoritarian shithole you see in other countries. Your government pays people to spy on you, and it will pay people to murder you if you become inconvenient. Secret police? Exactly how many ‘protesters’ were arrested or prosecuted or ‘disappeared’? Or held incommunicado or without bail? Their actions (especially those lacking sanction from the courts) which might infringe upon speech are worthy of review, as are actions which might possibly ‘chill’ speech. But an unsubstantiated claim of possible ‘chilling’ is not automatically criminal. An independent body (possibly the FBI or Justice Dept) should review and determine if local police action was unnecessary or illegal.
