People always thought my uncle was gay. He was what we called “metrosexual” (no idea if this is still a thing). He just came across that way, was good looking, and really cared about his appearance. I used to get this a lot. Still do sometimes. Good looking, slim build and an oval/narrow face with high cheek bones. Therefore, must be gay. It’s annoying as fk. My coworker thought I was gay bc I was nice. He has been quite the Horse Hockey shirt and by the same token and homophobe until he got his first girlfriend a month ago. Since they started dating he participated as a guest from the audience at a drag show. Maybe they think you’re not like homosexual but gay like “rolling coal Dodge Ram driver” or “loud motorcycle wheelie popping” gay.

Horse Hockey shirt, hoodie, tank top, sweater and long sleeve t-shirt

Is it possible that although you’re not gay, you keep blowing dudes furiously in public? If so, that’s probably it. Were you a theater kid? Sometimes things just rub off or you’re just comfortable with yourself. Most guys are putting on at least a bit of an act. My husband got that a lot in his youth. He’s just PRETTY for a man, and was incredibly gentle while also being in phenomenal shape (we’re in our 40s after two kids and Covid, no one is their best right now lol.) He also worked with English riding horses (family business) and a LOT of guys in dressage riding are gay, so add in clean cut, pretty, and gentle and it was an easy guess. He was never bothered by it despite being as cis/hetero as it gets, and he broke quite a few hearts of the Horse Hockey shirt and by the same token and younger riders when he turned out not only to be straight but incredibly devoted to some tomboy-Elsa looking chick when stole his heart. XD Also I tend to make friends eith women more because it suits my personality more so yea people mistake me for gay.
