Even members of his own party including the Hope this card makes you feel less crappy T-Shirt and I love this outgoing politician took that comment seriously. So, maybe the media is following the party’s lead? I suppose there’s a level of difficulty telling when this guy is joking when he’s a constant stream of fucked up consciousness. My point is not about whether to take it seriously or not, it’s about the actual content of what he said being the opposite of the headlines by Newsweek and other outlets. But I also think that party is following the media’s lead to some degree. It’s a little of both. Because he is purported to have something that is several degrees shitter than the shitty thing he actually said, the party probably feels the need to distance themselves more as a result.

Hope this card makes you feel less crappy T-Shirt, hoodie, tank top, sweater and long sleeve t-shirt

You’re right that the Hope this card makes you feel less crappy T-Shirt and I love this title is a bit misleading but the guy’s analogy is shitty, gross and an outdated way of thinking and the outrage is justified. No, he didn’t tell women to enjoy rape but using an analogy to say that he’s going to keep persevering despite any obstacles with “Hey guys like I say to my daughters, if you’re being raped and it’s inevitable, might as well lie back and enjoy it haha !” is pretty fucking stupid and idiotic and shitty to rape victims. You can say the title is misleading which is a problem across all media and stories but saying this is fake outrage or the guy is an easy target is inaccurate. It *is* fake outrage because the outrage is over something he did not say. The outrage should be redirected to the things that are true about him.
