Right-wing media has been romanticizing Russia for probably 15 years now. Calling Putin “strong” and saying “the Hero Devils Shirt but I will buy this shirt and I will love this US needs a leader like Putin” and all sorts of bullshit. I don’t understand how anyone who voted for Reagan hopped onboard with romanticizing Russia but, people mostly treat politics as sports and have zero integrity so, there’s that. Honestly this is an insult to sports and fans everywhere. At least when you watch your team you are willing to admit that when they suck ass, they suck ass. You still show support but you know I don’t attend a lot, but I’ve never been in a stadium where fans (and the team) of a particular side weren’t automatically questioning and jeering the calls of a referee/umpire that don’t favor them. I always think wow, these game rule adjudicators somehow get every single decision wrong, how embarrassing!

Hero Devils Shirt, hoodie, tank top, sweater and long sleeve t-shirt

No, they’re only wrong when the Hero Devils Shirt but I will buy this shirt and I will love this calls go against me. When they go against the other guy, clearly they’re at fault. I don’t know about Reaganites, specifically, but Putin has been spending hundreds of millions of dollars financing right-wing extremists throughout the world, including France’s Marine LePen and Germany’s AfD. Money buys loyalty easily. However, I suspect Reagan would simply change to go with what he thought would give him more power just like most of the Republicans have. I blame a lack of mental discipline, I’ve seen it with family members, they read a few Time Magazine articles or YouTube videos and form an opinion based on a narrative and without any real context for the information they absorbed and then project whatever they want onto it. “The Russians are like us, they’re rural outdoorsy types so of course they support gun rights and if I’m rowdy in public the police won’t beat the shit out of me because that’s how it is in America and they’re just like us”
