Heroin was a bitch. Cigarettes are probably harder to quit though. I was on heroin 3 years and finally quit after being incarcerated so many times. Cigarettes though, I’ve never even tried to quit. Too accessible and they kill you so slowly without you realizing it, I still don’t want to quit. Not true! My grandpa had a quadruple bypass heart surgery needed to save his life because he smoked so much wee and cigarettes. Guess what? And unfortunately a lot of people think they’re gonna quit one day before it’s too late. That’s when you know it’s too late. They can’t help themselves. I quit smoking heroin at 17, the day 3 people came to murder me for a debt. Never touched it again. My bones hurt, I had the hottest fever, couldn’t run to a toilet to throw up cause I was so dizzy. And literally nodding in and out of subconsciousness from the pain and sickness. It was a BITCH. Now go expect ANY tweaker or heroin addict willing to accept it for a guaranteed sobriety for the rest of their lives. Not many would raise their hand to go through with it. I’d say 5% max would actually go through with it. And in reality it’s up to them. Not anybody walking this fucking earth.

Sucking my thumb was harder to quit than cigarettes. I was like 11 and got a brace which made it uncomfortable, so blinking miserable. It wasn’t hard to quit, but mentally the way it worked … Being considered a reward, snorting alone in my room before going out. Alcohol. Granted its not the most addictive as some illegal drugs have that title BUT alcohol is so dangerous as it slowly kills your liver and its readily available. A lot of domestic abuse also comes from excessive alcohol consumption. Not to mention the amount of crazy drivers due to DUIs Meth or heroin are obvious answers, but alcohol will destroy you in sneaky ways with social pressure and ease of access. A meth addict probably doesnt go to family christmas and hear “Hey want some meth with dinner?” If you get caught with meth you get arrested. If you get caught with booze (assuming youre not driving) it doesnt matter, its legal so who cares. If you have a careless bartender and a heavy addiction, you could die of alcohol poisoning in a public bar sitting between a cop and a doctor. any amphetamines, they make people scary. i feel like you can be addicted to downers and people can still be around you but people on uppers are genuinely freaky Honestly? Food. There’s probably not a single day in your life where you will go without it, and you can’t really quit it. I struggle with this. Benzos, Alcohol, Opiates. In that order. The withdrawals from the first two can kill you, opiates make you wish you would die from the withdrawals. Most other drugs like stimulants are all mental with some discomfort and sleep loss. Heck marijuana withdrawal will induce insomnia.
