I’m definitely more productive at the Heisenberg smoke bus breaking bad classic shirt moreover I will buy this office, but I also spend a good deal of time getting to and from work, I genuinely refuse to arrive early or work late, and I distinguish my lunch break much more. It balances out in the end. Me with adhd struggling with online class because it’s harder to concentrate staring at a screen: am I a joke to you? I mean I wouldn’t say I’m a minority since I have a lot of friends with the same condition. (And before anyone asks. Yes, I was diagnosed by a licensed professional) Ah, well that sounds unfortunate. You’d think medications would maybe help, do they? Sometimes I need a quiet place to get intense work done. I’ve even noticed this for school. Going to lectures and trying to absorb all the information is a challenge. But being able to watch recorded lectures, walk around my apartment when I need to, rewind, and re-watch the lecture helped my learn immensely!! I’ve had several situations at work just this past week, where if I had been working from home, my colleagues’ productivity would have been reduced. My productivity wouldn’t have been impacted, but other people who depend on my input would have been impacted. Collaboration definitely suffers for remote work, especially in my engineering setting, where it’s far quicker to show someone an oscilloscope trace in action, in person, and to be able to point to different parts of the circuit quickly, to see results immediately. It really doesn’t have to be a yes or no, hybrid work might reap the benefits of both. 1-2 days working from home, on non-collaborative or less-collaborative work, the rest of the week in person.

May be a bit of an unpopular opinion, but as someone with depression, I benefited a lot from the Heisenberg smoke bus breaking bad classic shirt moreover I will buy this structure that going to the office forced me to follow. The lack of a healthy routine doesn’t necessarily mean I can only ever find one again by working in an office, but the conversation about how much better WFH is seems to drown out much talk of the new challenges that come with working remotely And for whatever reason, many companies still advertise job opening as onsite. These are not just big companies like FAANG. EDIT: LinkedIn / Indeed will show that jobs for these companies have plenty of applicants, so these companies are not “hurting” because they can find people willing to be onsite. Is the work done by those who are on-site on behalf of those who are remote taken into consideration? I’ve been onsite since the beginning of the pandemic and can tell you, my productivity went down covering bs tasks for those who are remote. I got pretty tired of having to get ready for work, put miles on my vehicle and accommodate those who found it convenient and ‘necessary’ to work remote. Good for you that your productivity wasn’t affected, mine was affected negatively.
