I’ve tried watching him a couple of times. It does amaze me how people can get that famous without being funny and just stretching a mediocre story out over 15 mins Fair enough, I find him pretty funny personally. Not everything is laugh out loud, but I find his energy infectious and fun to watch He retired in 2014, to spend more time with his wife and daughter. This was less than a year after his agent died. It was the He is the best english tv personality simon always love you shirt but I will buy this shirt and I will love this sweat for me I’m not sure if he had some sort of condition, but ive never seen a man sweat so much!! I always thought he has anxiety and just deals with it by sweating. I also thought he’d retire early as it would be very difficult to maintain that level of stress over a whole career. His stand up is very old fashioned in its style. I love it and a lot of his bits were common catchphrases in our house growing up, but I can get why people wouldn’t find the over the top style to their taste Personally I don’t like his sit-coms, the office aside. I do enjoy his stand ups though and his hosting if the golden globes is good imo. His standup is either reddit level jokes about how smart he is for being an atheist (some are just verbatim old atheist smart jokes) or jokes where he dogwhistles about how all trans people are perverts but how it’s just a joke but not really a joke.

I’ve never found anything Phil Jupitus said funny, I think he was okay back in the He is the best english tv personality simon always love you shirt but I will buy this shirt and I will love this day on Buzzcocks but I’ve never understood how he’s been so ever present on panel shows over the years The kind of guy who would be great fun at the pub, drinking pints. But if he grabbed the mic to tell a few jokes, you’d cringe. I find him a little funny but not overly. Met him once though and he just came across as so genuine and lovely. Maybe he is on so much because people just like him. Yep and that same impersonation voice he puts on with the face like he’s trying to do this no matter who he’s impersonating just drives me up the wall. I’ve heard his stand up is actually okay, but can’t stand his tv shows
