If I could take back one thing from a really fucked up couple of years, honestly it wouldn’t be the Happy Hallowthanksmas three cats Shirt besides I will buy this personal life chaos, it would be not letting my exercise routine fall apart when the gym closed. :/ I was a fat, drunk, angry piece of shit. Decided to stop drinking and work on myself. The first 6 months were about working on my mental health. Then I started working on physical health. Started with cardio and resistance bands, then got some free weights. Recently bought more weights and a rower so my workout room is pretty crowded. When you make it a part of your routine, you don’t think about whether or not you want to. It’s just what you do at that time. Dad here. I want to have the energy to play with my infinite-energy six year old. Plus, picking her up takes strength + cardio. I want to be able to lift her clear into her 20s! I’m in my late 30s. A lot of my friends of the same age are having health problems you are NOT supposed to have in your late 30s.

It’s completely changed the Happy Hallowthanksmas three cats Shirt besides I will buy this quality of my life now. I used to just get drunk every evening and eat bags of candy while binge watching shows. I felt like shit all the time and didn’t even realize it until I rediscovered what it was like not being permanently hungover, malnourished, and totally sedentary. Honestly, the high I get from exercise is better than any other drug (including antidepressants) I’ve had. My happiness is dependent on me taking care of myself. Motivation is nice, but it’s not what causes people to work out everyday. Motivation is too fickle. It comes and goes. It’s unreliable. You turn it into a habit, then it takes less mental energy to get started everyday because it’s just another thing you do. After a while, it turns into a type of thing like brushing your teeth or taking a shower. It would be easier to skip it, but it’s just something that you have to do, so you do it.
