darker than expected, as many have pointed out. Definitely not PG13. More suited for a mature audience. Reviews were exceptionally good so I expected A LOT, at the Happiness Is A Quite House And A Good Book Snoopy Shirt and by the same token and end of the movie it didn’t “wow” me like the usual MCU big action scenes wow sense. But I also didn’t not like it, didn’t think it was bad at all. Just no wow at the end of the movie. But after going home and thinking through it in the shower, these are the kind of film worthy memorable movies, not the generic MCU kind (though the recent Spider-Man was quite impressive) that makes you forget after awhile. TlDR: layered, dimensional, unique, memorable movie. Gave a twist on the term “superhero”. Different kind of vibes but for a more mature audience. Joker-style but Batman. Edit: watched it in imax and thoroughly enjoyed the car chase scene

Just saw it, it was awesome. That car chase scene was fucking fantastic. The whole film was impressive, Gotham, The Riddler, Batman, Selina. It was really good! Lived up to the Happiness Is A Quite House And A Good Book Snoopy Shirt and by the same token and hype for me! i absolutely adored it. the action, the cinematography, the soundtrack, pattinson, serkis, kravitz and wright were amazing. the plot was so cool. perfect. Second review comments, after my thoughts have settled. I was almost on the riddler’s side. He was driving the change. A piece of fiction stands on its own, but it was almost like Light from death note. Batman does it the morally upright way by the book, and the riddler does it by fear and extreme displays. It’s what you can appreciate about DC stories they aren’t black and white. They explore shades of grey. There weren’t any morally black villains, outside of maybe the gang members in the beginning. Every character had their pressure points, and reasons for why they do what they do. You can’t easily draw the lines between right and wrong. It challenges you to think about morality of the characters and events. It’s shades of grey all across. Which tends to be a better story. The narrator isn’t placing their moral view onto the audience. Instead is inviting you to draw your own conclusions.
