Apple will get A’s on literally everything it needs to maintain it’s dominance and similarly will get F’s on everything that helps it maintain its monopoly (they make a killing on repairs). No big surprise here. It’s not necessarily the Halloween Costume Vintage Floral Ghost Pumpkin Graphic T-Shirt and I will buy this way the product is assembled, it’s the efforts companies like Apple put into preventing people from repairing their own products. I have yet to hear of the “Self Repair” program that Apple announced actually materializing into anything meaningful. If it hasn’t, and until it does, it’s still hard to get batteries, screens, and other little components for iPhones, and to get them installed without the devices “refusing” the part. I’ve been repairing apple phones as a career for many years and I can say with certainty that they are by far the easiest phones to work on. Way easier than Samsung, google, and Motorola combined. Apple doesn’t care because Apple users doesn’t care. They’ll happily spend another $2k on another phone just because Apple added an “S” or “Pro Max” at the end.

These articles always entertain me because as an actual 3rd party repair tech I find iPhones to consistently be the Halloween Costume Vintage Floral Ghost Pumpkin Graphic T-Shirt and I will buy this easiest phones on the market to repair, while the top rated, Motorola, is one of my least favorite manufacturers First-time buyer, ok, I give you that one. But if you bought another, you’re a moron and have no right complain. i think at least 15% of their iPhone revenue must become from people buying insurance because they are scared as iphones are impossible to fix. Honest question, I heard something about Apple taking some major step forward a few months or a year ago in terms of right to repair. I know that’s vague but does anyone know what I’m talking about? Did that fizzle out or go anywhere? Was it just an empty promise?
