In 2 and so on the guns never feel powerful, elements feel like water (when used by you), shields are seemingly made of tissue paper and drop if someone looks at you wrong, powers feel beyond weak, and the obsession with the story brings the game to a slog. I could go on but I’m gonna stop there. In short, after 1 meta took the series over and made it boring to play along with multiple things they decide to change. BL1 World building , BL3 gameplay and BL2 writing would be a dream come true. Also Rose romance from Bounty of Blood as pre-order DLC , please. Edit: someone mentioned that the gameplay got better with every game and I’ll give them that but something was lost with each new sequel. Bl1 had the best siren and the best smgs. Especially the slow rate of fire, steady, mid zoom ones that could melt people with elemental damage

I like BL2 the Gym Hoe Gym Xmas Santa Shirt Besides,I will do this best. The humor is so spot on for me that I STILL laugh at things when I replay it. Also has some of the best DLCs (although I have a soft spot for the zombie DLC for 1) I loved 2 so much I got my whole family into it and we all played to OverPower level2 and got 1 because of it. Pre-sequel was fun and our kids really enjoyed it more. Tales from the Borderlands was ok. I preordered 3 ultimate edition and it was such a waste of money that I have vowed to never preorder anything again. Balancing, weapon design, and mission flow to name a few. Part of the reason I find the first game to be the best is that it doesn’t have at ton of backtracking like the others. I just finished the main story for The Pre-Sequel (I’m playing Claptastic Voyage at the moment) and the amount of backtracking you have to do is quite obnoxious at times. From what I remember of playing BL1, I didn’t like to backtrack because it was more complicated than the following games (haven’t tried BL3 or the Tiny Tina’s one) Nah. 1 was wonderful for it’s time, but skill trees that pushed you into only using specific weapons was a bad idea. Brick in particular, he got bonuses to nothing but rockets. My favorite character in the whole series, and the one I picked for coop when we did 4p, but man was i hurting by the dlc. Use ult or don’t bother. Character personality design was super on point in 1, but gameplay wasn’t the best. I am replaying BL1 right now, and using nothing but assault rifles with Roland. I have one rifle that hits for 300 and has a regenerates ammo quickly. My main assault rifle is a fucking monster, hits for like 250+ dmg, and absolutely spits out bullets.I loved 1. It felt like it was close to being a fresh take on an RPG. I was excited to hear they were making 2, thinking perhaps they’d build on the rpg elements of 1. Imagine my disappointment when I played 2 and it was less RPG inspired, more goofy shit. I feel like gearbox took the Borderlands series in the exact opposite direction I was hoping, and maybe the opposite direction that the world in Borderlands 1 hinted at. With that said I think 2 and to and extent 3 are still good games, just not at all what a young me had hoped the series would become.
