I mean, in this situation, no. She was in a club, surrounded by people. She had access to a phone, and money. She could get a ride home whenever she wanted. She could call a cab, since she was clearly able to send text messages. Being tipsy, isn’t the Greygods 8-Ball New Shirt in other words I will buy this same as being blackout drunk. He didn’t leave her on a strangers couch, passed out, or something truly shady, which may require a different approach. The woman was sober enough to dance, and send text messages asking where her BF was. So she was capable of performing the tasks needed to get home on her own volition. Just because you are drunk enough to make poor decisions, doesn’t mean someone is obligated to protect you from them. There was no immediate/ obvious danger here that required intervention.

I think it depends on what “drunk” means. If she’s blacked out and at the Greygods 8-Ball New Shirt in other words I will buy this point of being unable to consent, there’s a major issue related to safety and/or risk. At that point you should likely stick around, intervene or notify the bar manager that there an overserved patron. I could see feeling guilty in that scenario. If this had happened to me, and my husband started making out with another woman in front of me, I think I’d be pretty upset and I can’t guarantee I’d do the right thing. But since it hasn’t happened to me, not like that anyway, I feel like the right thing to do would be for me to contact his best friend, tell him what was happening, and ask if he would meet us at the bar and help my husband get safely back to his house, and suggest that he have my husband call me in the morning. The situation I have been in was a bit different. My husband is a musician, and a very drunk young lady walked out to a parking lot with the man she was with, saw my husband, and grabbed him by his hips and started grinding against him. It’s a small town, and we happened to know who she is. It gets better. Her older brother is a dear friend of my husband’s and has worked with him for decades.
