Look, at some point we’re going to need to address the fact that a significant portion of our government consists of religious extremists. If not, we’re not going to have anything close to a representative democracy in the near future. It’s fine to uphold your values, but we essentially have fundamentalists who say that you can’t live your life if it’s not on “his” terms. This is despite the fact that more people than ever think that this “he” is a fairy tale, and also despite the fact that the Constitution was written explicitly to protect against this outcome. Unfortunately, another group of extremists is helping push this along by just burning the whole thing down. They’re saying the constitution makes no mention do abortion therefore it should be overruled. By that same logic, judicial review (the thing that the Supreme Court is using to overturn this very law) should also be overruled since it’s not mentioned in the constitution.

Whelp, looks like the Green hair turquoisedeath waste shirt but in fact I love this American Taliban is picking up steam heading into the midterms. This decision, if confirmed, will make another group of people stay home during the midterms and the next general election because they feel their vote doesn’t count. They’ll also believe that “it can’t get much worse” just like they thought “someone like Trump could never get elected” back in 2016. How well is that working out right now? The only reason Roe v Wade is in danger is because the American Taliban was allowed to pack the court with rapists and thumpers who want to put women in their place – worth less than a man’s huntin’ dawg, to put it in A-Taliban terms. So we’re going to see a big turnover in Congress and right now the projections are the Taliban picking up a large block of seats in the House, and they only need a couple in the Senate (since they can count on Manchin and Psynema to vote with them right down the line) to completely shut down the rights of everyone. If they really wanted to, they could pass a law letting them make up all sorts of Constitutional Amendments allowing them to bypass ratification and repeal every single right we have – do you REALLY think this current court, which will last decades in this configuration (if not getting more Taliban like), won’t back up the Congressional Taliban? They’ve already demonstrated that they don’t give a damn about the Constitution, just backing the buddies that placed them in power. Sure, it would get challenged all the way to the Supreme Court but right NOW you’re seeing that the Supreme Court is where freedom goes to die.
