And the Green Bay Packers Marvel Wolverine and Deadpool True friends shirt but I will buy this shirt and I will love this wait times! Even setting cost aside I wanted to get a simple procedure scheduled, but the wait time was 14 months! For something that they wont even knock you out for. And of course because I am on employer healthcare, and I am on a year-to-year employment contract, I cant reasonably schedule a procedure that far out banking on insurance I may not have next year, in a city I may not live in next year, for a cost that I reasonably cant predict because the doctor has zero clue how much they actually charge for anything. Its fucked. To op: Do not discount the very real desire among Americans to go to a place where healthcare is, if not perfect, predictable. This only applies if you have simple issues though. If you have a more complex issue or need emergency care, America is better than Korea. Because of how Korean healthcare is structured, if you just use government insurance, the doctors spend less time on you and there are fewer doctors available for emergencies (hence why there is a strike now about the doctor increase). The Korean healthcare system has pros and cons so it’s important to recognize both.

if you just use government insurance, the Green Bay Packers Marvel Wolverine and Deadpool True friends shirt but I will buy this shirt and I will love this doctors spend less time on you and there are fewer doctors available for emergencies Have you ever been to a doctor in the US? It’s pretty rare to visit a doctor in a comparable big city (LA, NY, DC, etc) where you aren’t forced out in less than 10 minutes, in my experience. That’s not even touching on the fact that probably 80% of the time you go to the “doctor” you’re probably being seen by a NP, not a MD. They also make you sit in a room for like 30 minutes to an hour staring at a bunch random medical info at the wall. Then once you only get to see the doc for 10 minutes, you’re force to pay like 65$ or 80$ for the visit BUT then you get inside the mail later on that you owe an additional $300. This personally happened to me. American healthcare system is such a rip off. High quality care sure, but you better be rolling in Benjamin’s I’m seriously out of pocket. As a care leaver, I don’t have a family to fall back on and Korea has been a lifeline. I live comfortably here and I can save money per month. Korea has its issues but I know where my bread is buttered.
