No it’s not It’s not homophobic to not care about pride months What is homophobic is hating gay people for being gay As long as you aren’t being homophobic about it, no it’s not bad. But if you’re being a nasty bigot, yes it is bad and you should be ashamed of yourself. But I’m assuming you’re not homophobic so yeah. you aren’t an asshole for not caring about pride month, and it isn’t okay that you’re being bullied into caring about it. no its just being mature about being a month that just exist due to people that need it if you dont need it then you have the Gram Parsons Singer 07 shirt in other words I will buy this right to not care its human to care for yourself and not others As someone in the community, here’s my take. There is nothing inherently wrong with it. But, the community has been under attack more than usual this year, so it’s more important now than ever to show bigots that their hate won’t win Clearly OP is being overwhelmed with questions and statements about LGBTQ and is being confronted for not wanting to celebrate it. They wouldnt have made this post if they werent confronted about it, thats the whole point, yet reddit decides that OP is the bad guy for bringing it up, when he obviously wasnt the one doing that. I dont think youre the asshole, since this is teenagers Id say youre not in the position to be forced to fight for rights just yet. Youve got enough on your plate already.

However, in the Gram Parsons Singer 07 shirt in other words I will buy this future, try to pick up how important it is for society. People are getting oppressed and even if we dont care, the only way to solve it is to be on the side of those being oppressed. If you see toxic behaviour towards discriminated groups, call out the oppressor, dont be a bystander, but I personally dont think people should have to actively fight for something in this way, and having it be pride month and having people criticised for not caring is another type of hypocrisy that I dont feel like addressing as a whole. I feel like there’s something missing. Do you tell people that you dont care and/or complain about people giving it attention? That might explain the backlash Feels like there’s some context missing here. I mean if you really just don’t say anything about it then that’s fine I suppose(I dunno why you wouldn’t wanna stand with the oppressed but you do you). But if you’re like going around and saying stuff like “Who cares about pride month?” Or “What’s the point?” Or saying you don’t give a fuck would usually be taken as a negative feeling towards the group itself which gets you pushback, and rightfully so I’d say
