I think a few months ago I was arguing with an anti-vaxer and they mentioned that vaccines are no longer relevant because the Graduate From The Tassel To The Castle, Graduation 2022 T-Shirt but I will buy this shirt and I will love this deadly diseases are already gone. They were ignoring or didn’t care that they are gone because of vaccines and that we need to keep administering the vaccine until the virus is extinct. Also ignoring that diseases like COVID are deadly, heck the death rate for the original strain of COVID might be higher than polio even. Also other nonsensical anti-vax arguments were thrown in there as well. This. I find it wild that parents will let their children die because they’re fucking stupid. The parents should be charged minimum with child abuse. I feel for the children who come down with these preventable diseases, BUT I’m sorry I have no sympathy for the parents. A few years ago (2015-ish?) it seemed like it was getting really close to fully eradicating polio, but then a wave of antivax sentiment got in the way and allowed it to “recover” and cases rose again.

When you’ve got your enemy down, finish the Graduate From The Tassel To The Castle, Graduation 2022 T-Shirt but I will buy this shirt and I will love this job & don’t let them get back up. Draw your own parallels to other situations I guess. Genuine question, how does one get infected with polio after it’s been eradicated for so long? Does it go dormant somewhere and somehow get reactivated and infectious? I admittedly have no knowledge of how polio works. This isn’t the case in many parts of the world, but it’s possible that this child got it from the poop of another child who was vaccinated with the Oral Polio Vaccine (OPV). Hence, the weird wording I’m seeing on every single news article: The patient seems to have been infected with a strain that has undergone a change and could cause disease in those who are not vaccinated.
