Berlant: I think it’s probably mostly sinister primarily because of social media and capitalism’s ability to cannibalize everything. You can point to the Grace Kids 2021-2022 T-Shirt in addition I really love this cult of individuality, the crisis of individuality, and the way that degrades society. I think as Jacqueline’s saying, wellness is the search for God or something. We’re all trying to feel better, and unfortunately feeling better takes a lot of individual labor outside of purchasing things, but there’s also a pleasure and an eroticism to capitalist consumption that we partake in. It can be very dangerous because it seems to simplify the actual work or the actual pain it takes to feel better. But I think for us we always try to reduce it to hobby and fun in conversation.

Grace Kids 2021-2022 T-Shirt, hoodie, tank top, sweater and long sleeve t-shirt

I think for me right now [wellness] is so inextricably tied to social media because we’re constantly on Instagram. I follow these wellness accounts, [and] it’s eternally horrifying, the Grace Kids 2021-2022 T-Shirt in addition I really love this kind of monochromatic display. It’s always the same woman with her journal open and the Himalayan salt candle. That is going out of fashion, that is almost a relic of an immediate past. You’re like, Still? People are still selling that? But it is still there.
