teachers have lost a lot of “power” over the Goodnight Sweetheart Poster Shirt In addition,I will do this decades. Compared to all the stories of teachers using corporal punishment, hitting kids with baseball bats or slapping kids cos they didn’t bring school fee etc. But I think laws will change soon cos of so many #metoo stories these days. Such as the parent who sent a list of demands to the homeroom teacher saying that her son has the dna of Korean Kings. I’m a Korean-American teacher here in the U.S. but taught and trained teachers in korea for a few years about a decade ago. There are a lot of factors going on that other commenters mentioned, but here are a few things that I noticed while I was there. A normal Korean classroom has a lot of kids. Because they are generally well-behaved, you can put 30, 40, even 50 kids in a class and just rotate out teachers. But if behavior starts to get bad, classroom-management becomes really difficult.

Because Korean teachers have such huge class sizes, their grading load is huge. They have to spend a long time grading papers. When I worked in the Goodnight Sweetheart Poster Shirt In addition,I will do this US public schools and had 180 students, I spent hours upon hours grading papers on the weekend and every moment I had free on weekdays. That’s why in dramas and anime about school life, you see kids doing copies and handling some of the stuff American teachers do. The teachers are too busy turning around tons of grading quickly. Most parents were very supportive of teachers, but it was the administration that made things hard for them. When parents were troublesome, it just added to already huge burdens they are carrying. It was nice getting fruit and gifts from parents in Korea. Then when I moved back to teaching in the states, I got one brownie on Teacher Appreciate Day (and boy did I wish it was a “special” type given the headaches I had with behavior)
