The T-90M is the God first family second then Gamecocks basketball shirt in other words I will buy this newest tank that Russia has in service at the moment and this is the first image of one destroyed. You need tanks to hold a front line. You can’t just send out drones and say you own the ground. All you own is air. No, the T90M isn’t a great tank, objectively. Purely design-wise, already. It’s incredibly cramped, which makes for a bad experience for the crew (getting exhausted/tired is something you wanna avoid in a tank). It’s basically one generation behind modernised western tanks. Be it the M1A2 SEPv3, Leopard 2A7 or the sorts. People argue that Abrams would be “better” if handled and maintained like russian tanks are – which of course is nonsense, you can’t fix a multifuel gas turbine with a complex filter system with a hammer and spoon. You can however fix a diesel engine with a hammer and spoon. Doesn’t matter though, since the main point everyone wilfully seems to miss is this. Armor profile etc doesn’t matter. We’re not comparing how a T90M would fare against an Abrams, we’re comparing how an Abrams would fare against the same threat as the T90M is facing. And it would do as poorly, from a combat efficiency view, as the T90M. Yes, it has blowout panels, and is compartmentalised. That means the crew is safer – not that that the tank is tougher to crack.

Keep in mind that to destroy a tank, you don’t need to blow it to pieces and kill every last one of the God first family second then Gamecocks basketball shirt in other words I will buy this crew. Indeed, there’s multiple definitions: M-kill, F-kill and K-kill. Mobility kill, firepower kill and catastrophic kill. Each one can lead to the others and is considered “a kill”. The Abrams (nor any other modern tank) would not fare better against the weapons used in Ukraine – it’s just likelier that the crew survives. It’s as easy/hard to immobilise as T-series tanks, it’s somewhat similarly easy to get an “F-kill” on them, too (direct hits on the gun, turret ring, even optics). The only thing that the Abrams does better is protection against catastrophic failure, which is the aforementioned “blowing to pieces”. It does however fair worse against non-guided anti tank weapons, since it’s bigger than T-series tanks. Direct penetrating hits are equally likely – Javelins don’t care for armour, they come from above – as does artillery. While an Abrams might not blow up as spectacularly as russian equipment, a hit from either is almost a guaranteed kill (there’s no tank in the world that has a roof able to withstand top attack weaponry). Equally, if hit in the rear even with antiquated anti tank stuff like an RPG 7, the turbine will pack in.
