My answer: if you can comfortably afford a house and an out-of-state vacation or two every year on 130k, then that’s middle class. Depends where you live tbh. If you live where I live and average home price is over half a million you’d be in poverty. I would say pretty solidly middle class. My brother works in IT and probably makes six figures a year (I’ve never asked). He owns his house and his car, and was able to help finance my sister-in-law’s small business that is still going strong 5+ years later.
