If it turned out they were violent and had a warrant we let the cops handle it usually in the middle of the night when they were asleep.

It was interesting times. Best way to be if you’re in a shelter is to make yourself useful to staff. Be their enforcer, their tech guy, their cook, whatever. Just make yourself an asset not a liability. Take your cut and don’t fuck over anyone more important than you.
