“It is undoubtedly true that all citizens capable of bearing arms constitute the Georgia Bulldogs go dawgs mascot shirt in other words I will buy this reserved military force or reserve militia of the United States as well as of the states, and, in view of this prerogative of the general government, as well as of its general powers, the states cannot, even laying the constitutional provision in question out of view, prohibit the people from keeping and bearing arms so as to deprive the United States of their rightful resource for maintaining the public security, and disable the people from performing their duty to the general government.” So no, Heller didn’t make 2A an individual right to keep and bear arms. Heller made 2A a right for the individual to bear arms in the defense of the individual. It was already considered to establish the right of the individual to keep and bear arms for the defense of the state. In other words, the state could ban you from having a handgun under your pillow so long as you were allowed to have a rifle locked up in your safe, which is essentially what DC is arguing in the Heller case. In the aftermath of Heller, storage requirements have been overturned, handgun bans have been overturned, and concealed carry restrictions have been overturned so it absolutely did expand individual gun ownership but it didn’t establish it.

I’m so sick of this shit. But it’s ok as long as some dude gets to keep his 30 handguns, 5 rifles, and 15 shotguns. I’m sure his 2a is more important than innocent lives. They believe whole heartedly that 2A is a god given right. You mention healthcare or food security being a human right, then they start foaming at the Georgia Bulldogs go dawgs mascot shirt in other words I will buy this mouth in rage. Speaks volumes about who they are as people. The mayor said 40% of the illegal weapons on the city’s streets were stolen from cars, and he and the city manager urged gun owners to lock up their weapons. It amazes me an amendment to a document written during a time when animals were put on trial is something to be proud of. I don’t think that is giving the authors of the Constitution enough credit. Especially since they never said they were infallible or perfect or that the United States should never change. Quite the opposite. They baked the idea of progress into the foundation. They laid out the specific instructions of how to revise it, as time and the will of the people evolved. The Constitution was their second try after twelve years working with their first attempt showed them to have created an incompetent government, and many letters they wrote about the new one presumed the nation would need to change it again in future. They were writing for their time, not for us. People still base their entire lives on the Bible which was written during a time when we took shits on the ground outdoors. And they’re super proud of it.
